Show some last-minute love....

almost done scoring. i don't have much confidence that it's going to do well, but i tried to stretch my skills on this one, and i'm pretty pleased with the result.

thanks to everybody who helped me along the way. it really improved since the first version in subtle ways that i couldn't have fixed without you all.

I think the mustache is too dark/awkward.

maybe a different typeface or try making the type yourself?

it just seems out of place with the rest of the sketchy drawing. I like the design though and the idea is perfect for the contest.

Handwritten type would be more appropriate I think. It would suit more the lines.

thanks guys... yeah. it'll probably go smaller once i put it on a photo model, and i'll change the type... probably do it myself.

have you tried making the telephone darker? Right now it blends in with the man, especially the receiver.

I think what's awkward about the man is the eyes. He kind of looks like lifeless and no expression. The irises are resting at the center kinda like those mannequins.

Move his eyelids down so you see less of his iris. You usually can't see the top rounded edge of someone's irises unless they're making a weird face.

thanks so so much guys. i'm going to make all the changes you suggested! i totally agree with those of you who mentioned the eyes. there was something weird about the face and i think you guys found it.

there is a spot at the top of his forehead where it meets the hat.. it looks pointy.. like maybe the hat should be a little bigger.. I dunno.

either way, I think this is a winner.. very funny and very appropriate for the contest.
