When I look at this interesting design by the infamous Chow Hon Lam, I can only think of one thing in this entire universe. It isn't a dragon, or my favourite chinese restraunt (because for some reason we don't have those snazzy boxes here in Canada) it's actually my friend David's dad.

Wierd eh? Well hold your comments until I inform you of the only thing I have ever heard from this man's mouth, and I will do that as soon as I paint for you a portrait of Mr. Wong... Picture a skinny Chinese man... give him a snear, and glaring eyes, now give him ultra straight hair with a little alfalfa on the back, and then picture him never saying a word of english to you for the 9 years you knew his son (your friend ) and then imagine walking into your friends house to see David's younger brother Kyle sitting at the table having lunch next to his dad (Papa Wong) and all of a sudden as you pass him and say your greeting only to get a grunt you hear a... "DON'T PLAY WITH YOUR FUCKING FOOD" in the thickest chinese accent ever.

For years we have bugged David about this... and whenever we see David anywhere near any morsel of food we repeat the only words his father has ever said to our ears... DONT PLAY WITH YOUR FUCKING FOOD.


Thank you Mr. Chow Hon Lam, for immortalizing the funniest inside phrase around, and if I ever buy this shirt (the if is there because it is selling out fast) I will surely etch these words into some portion of the shirt... not to dishonor or disrespect your work, but to forever remind me that one should never be imaginitve and playful around food, no mashed potato volcanos, no pea people, no nothing or else a skinny chinese man will scream these 6 words into my ear...
