So far, it's been one of those years where you know everything is just going downhill... I think I need some sad music to, ironically, make me feel better by making me feel even more depressed. What do you recommend for suicidal-inducing, majorly depressing songs?

What Sarah Said by Death Cab for Cutie is always kind of a bummer.

I like that movie.

For sad music, I like Beck's album Sea Change. It makes me feel better when I listen to it, oddly enough.

I think that "Angeles" by Elliott Smith works pretty well, too... haha, one day when I was feeling terrible, I sat by the creek in the woods and listened to that and "Needle in the Hay" on repeat and sobbed for about an hour. It felt great.

"Oh Comely" by Neutral Milk Hotel

"Upward Over The Mountain" and "Sodom, South Georgia" by Iron & Wine... those have made me start to cry a little a few times.

Everything by God is an Astronaut is pretty depressing. But not in that "the world is highschool look at my drama" depressing, more like you're merely a single cube of ice in an ocean, one day you'll melt and be forgotten and what once was you will reform various other ice cubes that will also be forgotten so fully and completely according to any true measure of time.
