Slogan Swap WIPs

Designs for the OSC Slogan Swap competition.

My first is of Rossmat8's slogan Aardvark: the extra A is for awesome.

Now I'm working on SuperRyan's slogan This shirt protects me against werewolves.

yeah it's the first time I've drawn an aardvark, they're pretty difficult to get right. And yeah I started off modelling the text around the A to try and make the composition more interesting and that's the only way I coud think of having the first word fit well into the composition. Does it look odd? obviously once vectored the linework wouldn't overlap like it does..

thanks, yeah the overlapping thing won't be there once I've vectorised it, I just roughed this up quic to see if the composition would fly

yeah I was thinking that, I'm going to play around with the scale of the lettering to see where I can put it, not sure about the whole composition anymore tbh, my alternative will be to give the aardvark an entire body and have it stood next to the words lookin all chill

I like the colors dude and I think just the head with the necklace looks great and putting his ears behind the word could solve the problem.

yeah that's a great idea! You can have him leaning against the words, like they form a small wall.

I'm still stuck on the werewolf sub! no idea what to do, it might have to wait til after the official comp or something, maybe make it into a kickass collabo of some sort. I don't know how to deal with the concept besides slapping the words on a tee in silver type :/

hmm... I'll throw out a brainstorm sesh:

what items protect peeps against werewolves?

silver bullet?

maybe all it needs is the type and the type speaks for itself?

a "no werewolves" icon

make the text in the shape of a werewolf?

should a full moon be present?

maybe its a survival guide, a "how to" of surviving a werewolf attack. Kinda like a zombie survival guide, but for werewolves.
