i actually agree, this would look good in blue and green maybe? have the fish same color as water but with an outlien?

Colors are good. You might want to make the portion of the earth that you see underwater be slightly darker than the portion above the water line to reinforce the underwater-ness. I would also do something to the left side of the earth so that it's less square and more organic. Having a hard edge on one side of the design really detracts from the strength of the piece.

Tiredchildren, yeah good thoughts. I still have one more color I could use for the underwater ground portion. Definitely going to do something with the left side, I just wanted to post this WIP to make sure it was an original-ish idea.

everything below the water is a perfect shade of murky (unless you want more greenish). it is the kid, and most certainly the cupcake that need something. the cupcake should be (practically) glowing! just my two pennies.

and a total nitpick, if you are basing it on that one fish w/ the light out in front, isn't their lower jaw bigger than the top? minor detail, i know.

Yeah, angler fish. I think you're right, or at least they are more the same-ish size. But this one is a crazy offshoot with a cupcake for a lure, so all bets are off.

i hear ya there, just thought a bigger lower jaw would draw a line to the kid. but the cupcake takes care of that too.

Haha, I was about to say, any brighter on his skin, and he'll be totally white. I'll see what I can do about the clothes. It is hard with the limited colors.

Also Maltz, on my designs page the "Pending Approval" banner has disappeared from our collab, which means it has been approved and should be up tonight or tomorrow (probably tomorrow)

I just updated with some changes I made to the left side, now it is like a little island. Next, I need to do something about the boy.
