And I totally saw a guy wearing this.
So I said "Threadless!!!"

And he gave me this weird look...
"........Yeah....."

It made me feel stupid...

Oh yeah? I feel like a tool when I wear one of my eight threadless shirts. I secretly hope no one notices that I'm a "hipster" because that detracts from my awesomeness.

yeah, don't ever do that. it's weird when somebody does it to you and it's awkward when you do it to them. it's just... yeah. don't do it.

That's never happened to me. Whenever I mention someone's T-less shirt to them, we always talk about it. It's rarely ever in passing.

i saw some old lady, no joke like 50 or so, wearing the interpretive dance one. First i was like "holy crap i never wanna see her dance", then my gf pointed out it was threadless, and Secondly i was " OH WOW KOOL MY FIRST TIME SEEING A STRANGER WITH THREADLESS SHIRT ON!"

So i said "Hey that shirt is from threadless !!!!" She looked at me wierd, smiled... and said, i have no idea what your talking about, my daughter got this for me." and walked away lol : )

i felt pretty stupid too.

My first threadless encounter was in a hostel in Vancouver, BC. I was walkin down the stairs wearing communist party and a guy walking buy said, 'hey did you get that from threadless', I said sure did, and we continued on our way.

threadless encounters aren't fun when you say "hey that's a threadless shirt!" to a timid freshman that thinks if it talks then i'll smash its face in...

YAY.. i was touring colleges, and i was wearing a threadless shirt. and it was during the summer, but there were two students doing a lab and they were telling us about it. then i realized one of them was wearing a threadless shirt, and i was like, "hey, you're wearing a threadless shirt!" and he was like, "hey, YOU'RE wearing a threadless shirt!" and then we discussed the amazingness that is threadless. it was exciting.

I saw a guy wearing "It makes toast" on the bus. So I said, "hey, what's that contraption supposed to do, make toast?!" And laughed obnoxiously. He looked dumbfounded.

What a stupid question. He knew you got it there so why ask? Maybe he wanted to be your friend. Why didn't you ask him out for coffee or something? I'd probably have banged him.

well... threadless encounters in Argentina are weird... but I was on the bus the other day, looking out of the window, wearing reach for the stars and I saw a guy standing there on the street wearing another threadless shirt. I felt special :D

i saw a few threadless tshirts at this years Reading and Global Gathering music festivals here in England. I dont know whether its because of the festival environment but it was class as a conversation starter. In particuarly at the Global festival where it lead to continued contact over facebook with a few people.

Anything that leads to making conversation with anyone is a good thing! Especially in the UK where threadless is still comparitively small in demand. may i suggest macko4231 let his guard/pretend cool persona down and stop being one of "those people".

may the "threadless club" live on!

I saw a bunch of Threadless shirts on kids at Projekt Revolution, but I didn't talk to them because I was too busy being sad that I had to sit through Talking Back Sunday and My Chemical Romance (oh and Linkin Park)

It's always a risk. I wouldn't know what to say to someone who noticed my Threadless shirt.

I see people quite a lot in them, so it's no big deal. More often, I'll talk to people just because they really like my shirt, even though they don't know where it's from.

But Threadless encounters can go two ways: nice chat, or awkward "Well, duh. What the hell do you want?" moments.

haha all of my friends are slightly weirded out by my threadless obsession so my only other outlet is talking to total strangers about it. :D

my most recent run in was with a girl working at Trader Joe's. she was ringing up my gallon of tasty milk and recognized FITA and we talked about it for a bit. I think my first encounter was at the Fresh Market. some guy working the register said he loved my shirt (Telephone) and asked me where I got it and the bagger said Threadless. the three of us talked about it while my mom stared at us funny. ^.^

you definitely shouldn't stop pointing it out! it's a great conversation starter. plus it's fun to act like you're in on one massive amazing secret that involves mind-blowingly awesome t-shirts. :D

My friend's friend was wearing Rock Out With Your Cock Out, and me being friendly (or so I thought) did finger guns at him and went, "Hey! Rock Out With Your Cock Out!"

The rest of my friends (who didn't get the joke) stared at me in bemused horror. So did he, incidentally, and I started turning as red as his tee.

"You know? Threadless?" I said feebly. But everyone was determined to pretend my huge faux pas hadn't just happened, so I just kept my head down for the rest of the day :/

--but yea no1 will say anything if we walk past.. its basically a staredown and i say to them "threadless native" .. and they roll their eyes like a new yorker :( ..and walk away lol -__-

I've had several threadless encounters. my most recent was when I was wearing interpretive dance at brisbane airport in australia passing through immigration and the lady officer said to me, I have that t-shirt too! and we had a quick chat about how threadless can be an obsession. and my friend (we're both from Singapore) was in minneapolis at an education fair wearing curiosity killed the cat when someone there came up to her and said "i just have to tell you that is my favourite threadless tshirt ever!" so yeah, it's always nice to meet fellow threadless fans.

Haha! I wonder if FalconStrike's story is linked to crystal@painterjoe.com's story.

I see a few very rare people at uni sporting threadless tees but we just look at eachother's shirt when walking past and not say anything.

I've been approached on several occassions where people point out I'm wearing a Threadless. It's often the "point while gasping 'Threadless!'"- type. I don't mind at all, I find it amusing. It's even funnier when people growls 'Communist!' my way when I'm wearing the Communist t-shirt. Oh the pleasures of wearing Threadless ;D
