The process to weed out designs is flawed and designs that many may find appealing are not considered because a few people shoot them down! I say let anarchy reign and vote $5 far all designs whether you like them or not so the staff can choose them and not a jaded few! Rebellion!! (rips of shirt and runs topless through building)
Man, I'm bummed. Submitted my first design for this site and it got dropped early. Nevermind that I've designed hundreds of shirts or that this design was only submitted because everyone I know urged me to do it. I understand that one man's art is another's garbage. I respect that and some things I wouldn't be caught dead wearing but I respect others' right to wear them. I've seen a lot of politcally slanted shirts get high praise and things I would purchase in a flash get lost in a sea of trash talk. Maybe that is why I've purchased just one shirt from this site. (That and the fact that I can make my own shirts at a wim using several different methods.) I've seen a ton of shirts I would like to have in my possession but they never seem to please these masses. Ahhhhh. Maybe that is it. Maybe my taste in not in tune with everybody and their mama. Maybe I like to be different and can't be pigeonholed. That sounds painful anyway. I recall having issues with some ideas people wanted me to do when I had my own t-shirt shop but it's fuzzy as I've done 1000's of shirts since then. I remember cringing at the cute stuff people wanted or wanting to quit everytime someone came up with the "original" idea of putting a bunch of names on tree branches and having "Grandma's little angels" across the bottom (although Grandma doesn't wear muscle T's since the accident) or some other original idea I've seen for the 100th time. Maybe it's my fault for thinking I was among kindred spirits here or that these faceless logons would "get me" or understand my broken thought process. No. The more I seek kindred spirits, the more I realize I am uniquely different from everyone and that something I want to express may not translate to someone who is not in my head. Even the badge of honor winners on this site who are all equally talented seem to have trouble getting some of their best designs printed. I had a similar experience with my music writing and producing where songs that I spent months tweaking would get luke warm response and songs i threw together would get immediate play in parties and clubs. I know the tendency would be to say "don't overthink it" but that is exactly the point: If these are your thoughts on paper then you can't overthink them. They can be misunderstood but they are your thoughts and opinions. They can be modified so that others can understand but they are yours all the same. The most you can hope is that there are enough like minded people that can understand what you want to say.
This is an open message to defcon5---the defcon scale counts down, not up. defcon1 would be the highest state of emergency so please stop submitting slogans in the other direction because they don't make sense and there is no such thing as defcon7. That would be nirvana!
Do you guys lurk in the shadows? I notice when i post a blog i get 50 answers before the ENTER key gets cold.

I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
I am a DJ alone in the wilderness trying to find my way home.
