haha... yeah, the throw pillows are very cool. I'm guilty of having an ornamental vintage typewriter I must admit. I don't think the blog is really criticizing the design choices, just poking fun at how ubiquitous some of them have become in design magazines, and how precious and contrived some of them are (luggage stack, chair hodgepodge).

My friend Mike actually summarized the blog quite nicely:

Some of these trends are cyclical... like the ornamental typewriter, the vintage cameras, the succulents... I feel like we've seen these trend before... But the blog so systematically, and accurately identifies and itemizes these trends that it starts to feel like the keystone to revealing some pattern of common (somewhat affluent) identity construction (via tchotchkes) ... I'm also amused that at the same time as the blog is presenting me with something seductive (like a frame cluster) it ridicules me for falling for its shallow charms.
