Since my living room is also my work space, I'm looking for a chair that can serve a dual function as desk chair and occasional chair. I thought this one might work:

Here is a photoshop version in my place:

I figure I can swivel it around as extra seating. I need a very narrow coffee table... or perhaps I should forgo a coffee table altogether. My place is tiny.

Is that to scale? if so then yeah I think its awesome it matches your walls plus the art print, good choice.

Thanks. I think it's pretty much to scale (as close as I could eyeball it).

Hmm. How much will you be working in that chair? It looks good but personally I wouldn't want a desk chair that doesn't have a decent amount of adjustability, unless it magically feels just right.

I think it'll probably be too deep for a work chair. :/

Ya its a cool chair and I think you should get it, but I don't think its going to be very practical as a desk chair.

And even though it looks like it would cover the bottom of the window sill, I think I would stick the desk in front of the window. Then you could have the couch facing a tv or something. Of course you know the dimensions of your place better than me...just an idea.

cool. reminds me of the movie Blow-Up. I'm pretty sure he had a really similar couch too.

Thanks! That'll be helpful. I've been trying to think of a way to organize a proper seating area and still have a desk. I might need a smaller desk.

Yeah, I like the 60's vibe. Blow-up was a good movie.

The chair looks good, but I also have my doubts about how well it would do as a working chair.

Did you photoshop those pillows in Too?

I did photoshop them in, although I ordered them last week so they should be here soon. :)

The place that sells the chair is close by so I went to try it out. It's actually quite comfortable so I might buy it. Maybe not quite as functional as a proper desk chair but I think it's a good compromise.

Yeah, like others are saying, the depth of that chair might make work difficult. I have a few chairs like that, and none of them work at a desk. I've tried.

Glad you're happy :) very little is better than being happy with a decision. As for a coffee table maybe find 2 or 3 small cube like tables you can place side by side to make a long rectangle or can be used separately. I bought some tables like this at a moroccan place years ago and they're super versatile.
