Fontaholics Anonymous: How Many Do You Have?

The thread about the carnival font prompted me to wonder this.

I am an admitted fontaholic. I LOVE all the 8 million wacky and sometimes very useful fonts that you can find out there on the internet. 1001fonts.com and acidfonts.com are like my Mecca.

So, how many fonts do you have active on your computer?
Do you use a program to view/organize them?
What is your favorite odd/funky/underused font?

For me, a have a whopping 1191 active fonts on my computer. I use The FOnt Thing to organize them. It's a great program. My favorites oddball fonts are Dirty Headline, Accidental Presidency, Punkkid, and DearTheoII.

801 fonts currently installed. I cleaned up a bit a few weeks ago. my favoirite ever advertisement in a magazine said, "whoever dies with the most fonts wins." I have had it on my bulletin board for at least 6 years.

I have thousands although one of my favorite designers, Wolfgang Weingart, says that all typographic problems can be solved using only 4 typefaces. (he uses almost exclusively akzidenz grotesk because it has a "certain ugliness."

anyone on a MAC, do you have a font utility that you use that works well with OS X. A lot of the fonts I get off of the web seem to bug my programs, what's a good font utility that someone can recommend?

i dont have a mac but theres a few diff. font utilities on that site that will work on mac or windows.

I use font reserve, but it's not all that great to be honest. Suitcase is another option but it's not really all that great either.

Wolfgang Weingart is the shit. My school held a gallery show of his typographic poster work, it was the best show I've ever been to.

I have Suitcase on my mac to control and arrange fonts. Works fine for me.

I find photoshop cs and illustrator cs get a bit buggy with all the fonts I have, I'll get suitcase and see what it's made of.

Linotype Font Explorer X is a MUST HAVE for Mac users. It's basically iTunes for Fonts. And it's free!!!! I have 6001 fonts, so management is really important for me. I used a lot of other programs and this one blows them all away.

at home I have over 5000. The thing is, I know some of them are duplicates, I'm trying to erase them but it takes so freakin' long.
