I seriously don't see what there is to think about right now for threadless - they KNOW the shirt design is stolen. They should have taken the shirt down straight away. Shouldn't be too much work. And once they can work something out with the original artists they can possibly sell the design again...

The "Uberryan brother" alibi is a classic!

And this is different from the Def Leppard issue because that wasn't stolen. The band and specifically the drummer found it very offensive that's why the staff still sold some of it before they pull it down. This is a different issue. It is a stolen art and the original artist wasn't happy about it and demands Threadless to remove it from the listing. They don't even need the credits nor the payment, they want it off the site.

Sad, I really like the design. Well whattya know.

I can't stand this design (probably cause it's just a livetraced pile of shit and the angle of the picture that it was livetraced from is terrible) so I don't really care either way. It sucks for people that bought it though and obviously the person who did this is a complete jackoff.

hey, jake here from threadless. i was just made aware of this situation and want to give you all my assurance that we will handle this properly.

the designer will not be paid and the design will either be removed or licensed from the original designer if they are willing.

give us a couple days to sort the details.

oh and it isnt threadlesses fault that idiots gave this crap a 2.72 score. 2.7!! insane. but there are plenty of designs that score that high that dont get printed so who knows.

the staff still has these jackets up for sale...i'd donate them to the goodwill or something really honest instead of making lots of money offa them when MEZO's repost of the threadless LAW says it all.
