Bloodthirsty inbred canadians.

It's fucking sick, yes.

But if you ever feel glad that something like this happens to fellow human beings there is something seriously wrong with you.

I don't care. I won't back down from this. That's fucked up.

I dunno, I laughed (and some of my friends did too) when I heard Ian Stuart and some of his racialist cronies had died in a car accident. But maybe this world needs more seal hunters and Ian Stuarts. Or nazi seal hunters.
I bet nazi seal hunters would be more efficient, they'd just gas them cute poppets and not make such a bloody mess, and their trawlers would be of better design too.

Lovely show of sanctimoniousness. I eat meat, I steam my own lobsters, cook my own clams and mussels and oysters. When in different countries, I try local cuisine that often includes ingredients not considered politically correct here. I've swatted many a mosquito, killed flies, etc. And I still think I respect life. Enough to think it's incredibly judgmental and fucked up to be pleased that 4 people died doing something legal and probably something they needed to do to support themselves and their families.

I'm sure they had insurances, and their families can now move to warmer climates and have decent education for their many offspring.

I eat meat too, but only ugly animals, not cute animals.

it all depends how much they liked their job. if they had a sick kid at home and clubbing seals was the only way to pay for medicine then it's tragic. but if they signed on for the expedition just because they love smashing seals then i'm glad to be rid of them. same goes for lumberjacks or butchers.

i know a guy who works as a slaughterman in an abbatoir 5 days a week killing cows with a bolt gun, and then on his weekends he likes to unwind by going hunting. he gets over the trauma of five days of killing with two more days of killing. that's the kind of guy i could do without. i'd laugh to hear he'd been killed by a cow or a stray bullet or something.

So if you think a group of people are doing something immoral, it's okay to kill a few of them to thin out their numbers? Oh. Maybe you don't go that far. Maybe you just think it's okay to take a lot of pleasure from their deaths.

My. That sounds wonderfully humane and ethical.

East coast fishermen are some of the poorest workers in the country, they struggle to make a living with depleted fish stocks and supplement their meagre incomes by seal hunting in the springtime. I don't necessarily agree with what they do, but I certainly wouldn't wish death upon them or delight in a terrible accident like this.

Also, the blame for the seal hunt doesn't rest solely on Canadian shoulders....lets share a little with the many European countries who love their sealskin fashion.

maybe the LOL was in poor taste but does anyone believe gerps genuine values a few seals above human life? come on. he's not a complete monster.

Are those seals become extinct? If not then they are probably being hunted more humanely than the cows going through your abatatoirs to feed your fat ass at mcdonalds no?

wow, i'm a vegetarian and Canadian, but i find this thread utterly distasteful...would you really wish death on someone? that much? just as all animals have value, so do all humans. i don't condone the seal hunt, but i also don't condone the mass murder and enslavement of cows, pigs, fish, chicken, etc. That still doesn't mean that people deserve to die. And julie is right...east coast fishermen are among the poorest in Canada. And people can just choose to support the killing of cute animals...all animals deserve life....ah! There is just so much wrong in this thread i fit it all in!

True fact 1 : We are all judgemental about others and we often make those judgements very quickly and on little evidence. How many people have laughed at the idiots up for Darwin awards who have accidently killed them selves in stupid and original ways. They're people too right ?

I don't wish death on those people but I'm not overly greaving either. Whatever their background that kind of brutality against anything living is totally unnecessary. Nobody is going to convince me the best way to kill a seal is through the head with a pick axe.

Hactually I basically agree (on metaphysical level) with some of the opposing opinions (well, were there any other?) and regarding the tone of the original post ( being rather crass) - though I still stand behind the fact that the accident that happened to the seal hunters' trawler was karma in action - I'll perform some republican party history adjustment and remove the LOL from the title and adjust the message to be slightly politically correct.
Jackanapes mk.II
Jackanapes mk.II on Mar 29 '08 at 7:07pm
I still don't think it's karma in action.

I'm sure many people will disagree with me but that really doesn't matter (as far as I'm concnerned): a human life intrinsically has more value than an animal life.

This isn't the universe balancing itself out; this is a horrible accident for the friends and family of those men who lost their lives (doing something which I kind of find disturbing--but so what?).

It's funny that we all have our " What's an animals life worth scale ". A rabbits life is worth more than an insect but less than a sheep. A sheeps life is worth less than a cats and a cats less than a dog. Incidently in England most people value their dogs over their children.

Although I have my own scale ( I prefer rabbits to insects after all ) I don't agree that I have a right to say that an animals life is worth less than a persons.

I hope it hurt just as much as it hurt the seals when they clubbed them to death. Their actions have led to their demise & now their famlies will feel the loss just like the little seal pups do when their parents are mercilessly slaughtered in front of them. There are PLENTY of people in this world who DO NOT deserve to be in it. GOOD RIDDANCE!

Hay, I am here. You're probably wondering why but yes I am!

I went to Brazil for a sex change operation (for something nicer obviously) but all I got was sex sex sex and no change at all.
So I'm broke and my eyeliner is running, but I won't let the sun go down on me.
