about Easy Steps
I know I should've placed my order sooner but i thought i'd wait and see what else the sale had to offer... anyway, the easy steps tee is now on special order - which mean's what exactly? that they have to print individual tees and that's why it's gonna take so long to get to me?I'm really just wondering because waiting 4-6 weeks for it to ship is quite a long time... it's a great tee though, isn't it..
things i've been wondering...
what are the percentages of different countries that buy tees from threadless? obviously america has the lying share but what about the uk? following on from this, it's kind of weird when you go out one night to a club (lets say bristol, in the uk) and look around and spot 5 or 6 people with threadless tees on and realise that you're not the only special person in the room - as if you've automatically got some sort of connection, a talking point if you will, with your fellow shirt wearer... also, do any of you reckon a tee with 'proper job' on it with a tractor would be good? i know it's a colloquilaism in the south west UK but it'd also be an threadless in-joke for the americans... finally, you guys (and gals) might like this: http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-snc1/v275/229/49/193109794/n193109794_36037298_3027.jpgthat's me in the 'meat is murder' tee... i don't know which people found better - the paddling pool in parliament square or the t-shirt.
i thought it'd be straightforward - but ohh no, that would be too easy...
I live in the UK and love the threadless designs, so much so that i ordered three t-shirts in the first batch and i've got another three on order. The first three came without a hitch but these second three - well - they cost around $60 which, in proper money, was £31.03. i was happy with this and thought i'd get them sometime within 3 weeks (chose economy mail not priority - maybe my downfall). 3 weeks comes and goes and 3 days after that period i get a little 'note' from the royal mail stating that the package couldn't be delivered because there was a custom charge. Now this customs charge was £12.29 - which (minus £1 handling fee) is 36% of the total. Now, VAT is only 17.5% and customs duty is 5%, this seems a tad high. So much so, that i'm gonna pick up my precious cargo at the post offce tomorrow and whilst there, have a little chat with the postmaster... just to make things clear - love threadless, pissed off by UK Customs. i'm even thinking of getting into this tee designing malarky - seeing someone else wear a tee with your design on it has got make it worth it... |
