kids tee size?

So far I've been purchasing all my tees in a girly small, but they're actually still kind of loose on me - I'm 14. So exactly how small are the kids tees? Are they on the big side? Is there anybody out there who has bought a size 12 kids tee and it fit them better than the girly small?

Kids tees are shorter in length, and they're wider. I find the girly sizes to fit much better.

I bought a kids 12 custom tee and it was the same width as my girly xl Threadless shirts and about two inches shorter.

The kids tees printed on AA shirts are smaller than the custom tees though.
