Basically we have to do some sort of 'volunteering' that shows the power of one person. (We read The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay in english class.) Since I've already been rejected by two places for having poor German, I decided enough was enough and I'm just going to be lazy and provide free babysitting this coming wednesday and thursday (1/2 hours wed, 4/3 hours thurs). But allowing parents to have one night out free isn't that... 'powerful', so i wanted to do something with the kids that made them think or whatever. Bear in mind the age range will be anywhere from 5 till 12, and that these kids are pretty well educated (children of a lot of -ologists.... internationally recognized researchers, promising younger scientists and scholars, and personalities of intellectual life off the website for example). I don't want to bore them to death but I don't want to be too loose with them either. Suggestions?!

I'm a councilor at a day camp for children ages 5-12 - so with a group size reference I should be able to offer some advice.
