There was a Maozedong! - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Take a look at the string of comments.
I am so frustrated with under-educated people flaunting evil as a pop culture theme. It's not even their fault most of the time. How many of you were ever taught about the history of Mao and his atrocious reign in school? Not many.
How about Che Guevara? Do you all realize that he was the man that put Fidel Castro into power? He led the revolution in Cuba then left to let a dictator of terror destroy generations of people with poverty. It's just plain sick.
Most of you wouldn't wear a picture of Geroge Bush on a t-shirt, let alone any real terror like Hitler or Stalin or any other genocidal megalomaniac!
So, do yourselves a favor. Go to the library (That's the place with all the books.) and brush up on some history. Real history, none of this Wikipedia crap. Don't let a culture of stupidity and ignorance rule you.
That's all I have to say about that.

well, that plus the fact that he just took some existing are and slapped it on a shirt without any kind of personal input.

you are totally right mang - i am with you but dont blame Ernesto Guevara on the way that Cuba turned out. He had an idea, just like many other great minds.

it is a stupid trend, but dont fret, its a old trend, and its going away.

this guys a little late on the curve.

but in defense of it, che guvera is cool.

he challenged the american way of life, and that is super cool.

also we killed, him. so thats pretty cool.

you gotta face it, the guys pretty cool.

but there's nothign cool or funny about this one

Well, I'm glad to see you guys agree. And I'm glad the trend is going away. It's not the style of art that bothers me. I love the likes of Shepard Fairey. It's the uplifting of the ideals held by people like Mao.

You're right about Che. Fidel was the corrupt one. Che ideas were great, it's the corruption of those ideas in practice that has harmed so many live.

I agree with you on the Mao thing.

Che shirts only piss me off because usually the doofuses wearing them don't know who he is.

I also think that if people want to wear a shirt with an image that embodies revolution, they should skip the cliched Che shirts and get a shirt with Louis Riel on it. There's not many true North American revolutionaries, but he was one.

I agree with betterthanhuman.

I find it annoying when people wear this kind of tee and don't know what it represents to 3 billion people in the world.

What makes you think I would debate that? For that matter by our last two presidents? or even three? When you add up our military action of even the last 20 years (Panama, The Gulf War, Somalia, Bosnia/Yugoslovia and our current campagins in Afganistan and Iraq) even the most liberal estimate of combatant casualties, allied casualties and civilian casualties combined don't begin to touch even 10 million.

Yeah that bastard Mao is evil, however no war, no combat, no military action of any sort including "freedom" should be an excuse for human death. Any country who sends its citizens to war, to defend liberty on territoriy that is not theirs should be ashamed becasue they are defending a value with ITS own ppl that give IT the value IT defends in the FIRST place.

Im in favor of Human life. I think any form of military action or brute force is a reflection of how weak a person is to be able to resolve situations using their mind and ability to solve problems in a non-violent way.

was it right that che became currupt and idealistic?

some friends were telling me that towards the end of his life, he was doing excecution style stuff to people who didnt see his way.

i guess thats what they mean when revolutions cycle back in on themselves creating a simliar if not worse situation again.

kinda a bummer no?

Speaking of "trends-that-were-started-based-on-a-real-cause-but-now-are-being-toated-and-worn-by-every-misunderstood-youth-that-wants-to-appear-to-care" then take a look at the "To Write Love on Her Arms" shirts. Every kid at any punk-rock-emo concert is wearing these shirts and I know that a lot of them do support this great cause, but a lot of them, think it's a shirt about drawing tattoos on a girls arm.....

Shut-up grimey. As anyone can see, you're one of these bozos. Your Myanmar 'tribute', or whatever you want to call it, is utterly tastless.

why would you hyphenate "shut up"? were you raised in a grammar barn?
