I'm working on my first design, and i remember reading a limit of five colors to a design.
Alas, my inquiry is thus- do black and white count?
I suppose so, but affirmation would be beneficial before i proceed.

but good point, white is the absence of color, technically, so it shouldn't count

Sometimes, white is considered all colors while black is the absence, you know. It all depends on if you are talking about the primary colors of light:





or the primary colors of pigment:

well then technically if i use white i use every color, therby negating my ability- no- "allowed-ness" to use it at all
