Do you vote differently than you would otherwise if something is submitted for a contest?

If it is at all connected to the theme I vote/comment normally as opposed to weighing it against other competition subs. I think some good shirts are printed from the competitions even if they aren't the winners. I like having a starting off point for my submissions even if they don't end up obviously tailored to the competition.

I like competition shirts that stick to the theme.

Nah, I vote on design alone usually since Loves contest entries are still eligible to be printed for the ongoing contest. The competition judges can weed out those that don't fit the theme.

If a design is submitted to a loves contest that doesn't fit the theme at all, I might score it bit lower than if it was submitted to the regular competition. Interpretation of the theme, whether obvious or more creative, is an important part of the loves contests that I try to keep in mind when scoring.

As most of my votes are 1's and 2's (0 if it s**ks), there's not much difference between my votes for competitions or regular subs.

But if the subs for a competition are getting too much similar and uninteresting (like Google ones), it's much easier to me to give a lot of 0's.
