saskatoon is a pretty awesome city but its not really close to anywhere, Edmonton is about 6 hours away and calgary is 7, theres Winnipeg out in Manitoba but again thats10 hours away and its pretty much exactly the same as saskatoon.

Theres Regina to the south, the province capital (it has all the major buildings and its cool to see the history, plus you get to hear about Tommy Douglas who basically created canada national health service), and I love it there but saskatoon is bigger and it has a better music scene and a couple of really great bars, theres an english pub thats always packed.

Depends, why are you going and how long will you be there for? Saskatoons cool because its a small city and your very quickly out in the wilderness, I hear Prince Albert National Park is worth the drive.

I would add as well, that its a very different lifestyle, a lot of the jobs in saskatoon are based around the mining industries, where as in regina its surrounded by farmers.

Like I said, personally for all the bad things said about the province I loved it, coming from the UK it felt like a slower pace of life but it was comfortable, I couldnt live in a small town like the ones my friends grew up in (most came from towns of 300) and its nice everyone seems to know each other which happens when the population of the entire province is barely over a million.

Schenectady appears to be in the lead, but only by a Saskatoon, which isn't much more than a couple feet, or meters, depending which way you look at it.

I've heard funnier names, including climax and moose jaw, both are in southern sasksetchewan.

Moose Jaws pretty big about 15,000 people, its a fairly cool city lots of awesome old architecture and its kind of unusal because a lot of the buildings are brick.

Actually I'm from a town between Albany and Schenectady, but my mailing address used the latter.

Schenectady is OK, it has some funky little artsy areas that are on the rise.
