about When Pandas Attack
Reminds me of Tropic Thunder - anyone know what I'm talking about?
Forget your oil and natural gas drought.
The real crisis facing the modern world is this: The international stock of Polaroid film will soon run out! How will the world, and especially all those hip artists out there, respond to this crisis? Is it time for a digital camera setting that mimics Polaroid images? Will the Polaroid become a laughable relic along side the Sinclair C5 and the shellsuit?
Could the house of film director Roland Emmerich be the most pretentiously decorated house in the world?
YES, I THINK SO. ![]() I fancy trying my hand at doing a design (again...). It would be based on St Rita. Now, I ain't religious, but St Rita is the Patron Saint of Lost and Impossible Causes, which is just genius. She also has a load of cool symbolic stuff associated with her story, like bees and roses and things. SO! I need some lost causes for her to be surrounded by; lost causes that can be clearly illustrated. They can be small frustrations or weighty life and death type things. My only idea for one so far is when you're trying to open a can of pop/soda and the ring pull snaps off. So, it would be great if you guys could give me some suggestions. ![]() Is anyone else on Threadless a fan of Project Rooftop? It's a website where they run competitions to redesign classic superhero outfits/looks, and generally the standard of entry is pretty-to-very high. I just like geeking out over all the new visions of classic superheroes. Thought it would appeal to people here, and some of the more talented among you might even want to enter. So far they've done Superman, Supergirl, Iron Man, Robin, and others. At the moment they're running a pretty cool competition to redesign Vampirella.
For those who fancy something a bit different (and who like AWSM music), here is Art in the
Age of Mechanical Reproduction. Some nice stuff. May treat myself to a "Throw Down with Thoreau" shirt! ![]() Awesome 50-song mashup for free streaming/download on the Quietus music website. Plus, if you can name all 50 artists/songs used in the mashup, you win a prize! There's no way I could do it, but maybe some uber-muso here could take it on... worth listening to regardless! |
