So, I'm reading the comic book The Walking Dead right now, and it's pretty great (I'm only up to #36, so no spoilers please!).

Got me thinking it would be fun to ask:

You wake up tomorrow morning and the dead have risen from their graves. Civilisation is crumbling, the police, army and government have fallen to the undead ghouls (shame, Obama was so promising...).

WHAT DO YOU DO?

Masturbate furiously until I go blind.

Fair enough. Sounds about as sensible as any other approach.

I don't actually have a comprehensive Zombie Apocalypse Survival Plan. I feel rather like a failure to geekdom.

On the other hand, most of my friends do have one, so I'm probably going to be okay anyway...

Vindemiatrix - as long as your friends' survival plans don't involve using you as bait.

seeing as the undead can't walk so well i'd start driving up a mountain. the nearest mountain. seems like that could afford me enough time to implement chipmunks plan.

Dude, pick up the following book if you haven't already:

-The Zombie Survival Guide

Also, I'mr eading through a book called World War Z (written by the same dude who does the zombie survival guide) it's really good. I mean, not even in the whole "Zombies are Awesome" sense. It's very relatable to realistic events. It's basically a series of fictional interviews from survivors of the first Pandemic zombie outbreak, and it's their oral retelling of where they were when the zombification started. It's pretty scary, disturbing, and in a weird way, kind of inspiring.

Like seriously, I dont' want to give away too much. It's crazy the different kind of people the author sort of creates in the story.

I can't really honestly say that it's a literary masterpiece being as though I've only just recently started reading outside of assigned crap for school, but it's one of the best zombie related "stories" I've ever read.

well i got the ZSG and my wife is reading it right now, we have plenty of bludgeoning tools, and i have this FIGHT/flight thing going on (know when to fight, know whento flee). been looking into getting some crossbows but those are 2ndary to firepower.

it's pretty easy to just stay down...it's the need for food that would kill us. (not a lot of grocers nearby)

I love how everyone spells Alvin's name with a(n) U even though it doesn't have one.
Alvin, why did you choose to leave it out?

Haha. Funny thing about crossbows.
My dad built one when he was younger (from scratch including the bolts. The only thing he bought was the trigger.).
So, in the case of an infestation I'd head home and I'd be all set.

I don't know if I'd be able to do anything! I'd be so excited and giddy I'd probably pass out on the floor...then I'd get up and start killing.
The two best weapons for zombie mayhem: a crowbar and a katana. They never run out of ammunition and require minimal maintenance.
