I don't think I'm as keen on character/jokey based designs as I used to be, but I'd like it better if the thought bubble wasn't even there—the photo album/scrapbook that says MY CHILDHOOD on it says enough already. I'd like to see a version where the ram is even less anthropomorphized—a realistically drawn animal sitting awkwardly and blank-eyed in the chair, album propped on its hooves.

Thanks for the note about the inks Santo76, that's actually probably better since I'll have more leeway messing around with the palette.
I guess camo isn't the look I'm going for, maybe I'll try something that isn't green/brown/yellow (though on looking at it some more I like the alternate palette better too). I'll throw up some color variants next.

R Thull do you like the alternate color palette better? A friend of mine suggested pink—I sort of like it but it tends to not be a very unisex color. I'm also thinking about gray and red on white, though that's sort of boring.
Nicely rendered, fur and hair are fun to draw.
I think the main draw of the image is in its line and texture, see if you can emphasis the swirls of the fur or add more to make it more compelling.

I think the composition seems a bit disconnected, yeah—maybe take just one of those elements and work from it, rather than try to connect them together.
