My trip to Chicago was short, but gosh, it was pretty darn amazing. I met, chatted and hugged so many people that I lost count (if I introduced myself to you twice and hugged you more than once, I don't know what to say, haha). Bad memory? I'm not sure how some of you knew who I was - considering there are very few pictures of me on the internet - but it was quite hilarious introducing myself to some of you. I had to add the "4002" after my name, but once it clicked, you should've seen your faces. My mom got rather ill the night before I left for Chicago, so if you saw me zoning out at times, my apologies.
I ate a lot of good Chicago food and as many of you know, I wanted to capture everything with my Flip camcorder. Enjoy the three videos below. Yes, three! I did want to make one video, but my computer did a huge groan-fest and if it could, it would've started smoking up a storm, so I had to shorten/split up my videos. Sorry for some of the shakiness - didn't feel like stuffing a tripod in my backpack. The sad thing is that I was so focused on recording everything that I didn't get a chance to meet everyone! I was looking at some of the clips and I was like, "Holy smokes, I didn't know they were even there!" A huge thank you to the Threadless staff and of course, you people! I had a blast and maybe I'll see y'all next year - I'll make sure to wear my red glasses! ![]() Also, look at what came in the mail for me while I was in Chicago! I joined Threadless on March 19, 2007, which was during my first year of university. I graduated a few months ago (April) and received my Bachelor of Nursing degree in June. Threadless played a big part while I was in school - I ended up wandering on the blogs when I was stressed or scoring designs when I didn't feel like studying. I loved Mondays not because of the early morning classes (those were a joy), but because new tees would be released on Threadless. I believe it was during my third year that Threadless Spoiler Alert began and that's when I started looking forward to Thursdays. I remember I was at the hospital (postpartum unit) and I would go on a computer and check if Spoiler Alert was up yet - I was a little crazy about Spoiler Alert - and then I would exit out of Threadless and go bathe a baby, haha. Anyways, I would always come home from clinical or my classes and check if anything new happened on here. My "All about me" changed each year - "Hello from Canada! My name is Jess and I'm a first year nursing student." to "Hello from Canada! My name is Jess and I'm a second year nursing student." to "Hello from Canada! My name is Jess and I'm a third year nursing student." to "Hello from Canada! My name is Jess and I'm a fourth year nursing student." to "Hello from Canada! My name is Jess and I'm a graduate nurse." I can't change it to registered nurse yet because I'm not officially a RN until October 1, but the journey will be complete and I can't wait to change it to "Hello from Canada! My name is Jess and I'm a registered nurse." I guess I need to find a job now so I can wear this pin. Thank you for all the support and love you guys have given me. Thank you to Threadless for keeping me sane? No, that's not right. Thank you to Threadless for everything. Four years of university is something I'll never forget and, well, I'm glad that Threadless was with me for those four years. I love this community. I love you all. *wipes away tears*
