i made a blog about porn yesterday.

when I saw the adult shop, I actually thought, "How quaint!" Nowadays everyone just gets their porn and sex toys online. I thought the old school adult shop was sort of a throwback to kinder gentler times.

The porn shops here in NYC can be scary, not quaint. A fast internet connection is better than braving the sticky scum-soaked floors of buddy booths.

I was actually kidding about the kinder gentler days of scum soaked porn shops... but seriously, real store front porn shops seem to be on the decline. It made me laugh to see this.

There's one here in Greensboro right next to a Toys "R" Us, and at night a towing company stakes out the parking lot. My friend and his wife got their car towed one night, and had to call me for a ride at like 1:30am.

Hey neat, Portland! That's where I live when I'm not in California. I didn't even notice there was a porn shop in Lincoln City. That place is great, Mark Scott (the guy who's in charge of building the BEST skate parks on the planet) lives there, and he keeps adding on to the Lincoln City skate park, so I end up visiting often.

Did you know that Portland has more strip clubs per capita than any other city in the country? Just a little factoid about my fair city. We are passionate about smut, coffee, recycling and outdoor recreation.

Yeah, every time I mention that I've been to Mary's, someone tells be either about that it was the first strip club in the Northwest or that Portland has the most strip clubs per capita, but all that I can think about is how I went to Mary's on a Tuesday night, and the dancers averaged probably $3 per song.

Do you think it is true though, the strip clubs per capita thing? I'm not really sure because I can only name a few. When I lived in Lafayette, Indiana they used to say that it had the most fast food restaurants per capita in the US which made sense because there were like 5 on every corner, but strip clubs in Portland? I don't know. Mary's, the place by Dantes, The Dolphin, that sketchy place over on the east side of the Ross Island Bridge, that's all I know of.

TheArtRobot, I think it is true (about the strip clubs per capita). We even have a vegan strip club! I read recently that Portland has more than 50 strip clubs within the city limits. Oregon law allows alcohol to be served even where full nudity is shown. Our state laws are actually protective about obscenity and sexually oriented businesses. Smut, medical marijuana and physician-assisted suicide.

Vegan strip club?? What does that entail??

And i just love when all four of these things are put together to make the great caffeine-fueled, park roving, trash pickup project that you fuck on the clean camp grounds after you pile the trash off of them.
