I heard about the threadless website while pretending to do work at a job I once had. (isn't that one of those epic work lines?) Luckily I had some awesome co-workers who loved surfing as much as I did. "ACE" (and if you are reading this you know who you are) was looking at threadless one day ordering shirts to compliment his funky style of t-shirt under button up shirt (with the collar up) and jeans. Me being a pseudo-crazy-artsie/design freak couldn't help but appreciate his style and was curious about where he shopped. Threadless he told me.
And so, I happened to log onto the site a few weeks later coincidently when there was a shirt sale going on and I picked up Advisors. It was so me, it was beautiful, whimsical, original and complimented the way I think. There is this quote that I love originally from "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" but really from the napkin from "Jekyll and Hydes" in NYC. It reads:
"In each of us two natures are at war, the good and the evil. All our lives the fight goes on between them and one of them must conquer- what we want most to be we are"
I have another shirt from NYC that I bought at a little boutique near Washington Square. It is bright yellow with huge angle wings printed on the back. Advisors is almost the same theme.
When the shirt finally came, I wore it for days. Making sure that I saw different friends in it so that I didn't look like a freak who wears the same clothes over and over again. People looked at me and my shirt, but really said nothing, just smiled at me and i bet secretly wondering which silent advisor I choose most often.
