Lately I've really been digging light fun music like...

The Aggrolites
The English Beat
Damian Marley
Skratch 3
Long Beach Dub Allstars
Slightly Stoopid

Is there any really good bands similair to this type of stuff that you guys know of?

kaloyster - Beach Boys are always excellent!

Aristarchus - I really can't get into Mika. My girlfriend loves that song though.

Seastarr - The English Beat are a kick ass old ska band. Check them out for sure! I'll check out The Boy Least Likely To.

Kerrn - I dig the old JT album. Except for a few tracks I can't really get into the new one. I think it's overrated.

The Crackers - I dig a lot of electronic stuff.

I second both the specials and the skatalites.

The first time I saw the aggrolites they were opening for The Toasters, and at the very end they dragged Neville Staples from the Specials and played "a message to you rudy".

i think i blasted pet sounds for about 8 weeks nonstop once!!

Seastarr - never heard of The Briggs. Sounds like a ska band for some reason.

Sonmi - The Specials are wicked but I haven't really gotten into The Skatalites. Toasters and Hepcat are cool.

AsStarsGoOut - The Hippos... I know I've listened to them but I can't remember if I was into it or not.

Try the debonaires or the expos. Maybe even some Desmond Dekker.
Work the Angle
Work the Angle on Mar 27 '07 at 11:37pm
Yah, most of the bands I posted are either reggae or ska. I just like tunes that I can chill to and make me feel like going outside. I guess Lily Allen and Slightly Stoopid really got me back into ska and reggae.

Boopy - I love Aesop Rock, Ben Lee and Atmosphere but your list is pretty much the opposite of what kind of tunes I'm looking for. I'm finding it really hard for me to be into stuff like The Decemberists anymore. I get really tired of the gloomy type stuff(except for some of the darker hip hop).

The Crackers - told ya! So crazy that they give that album away for free. I'll for sure check out Mouse on Mars.

AsStarsGoOut - Sublime is kind of a given. You'll also notice that I put Damian Marley but not Bob. Bob's a given. I'm kinda looking for something new. Bad Fish are nuts live.

oh yah... I can't get enough of Tsunami Bomb! Not really the same as the other bands I listed but they kick ass.
