This is a weird question but how do you go about shrinking Threadless shirts? I tried wearing my friend's girly small and it's kinda loose on me so Im wondering if there's a way to shrink it so that when i buy them for myself it fits perfectly.

thanks yall!

browns and black tend to run smaller though.

I usually soak mine in the hottest water I can get in my sink, and then I take them and put them in the dryer on high for a full cycle. That usually gets them to shrink. Oh! And keep them turned inside-out, so the designs don't take as much damage. :-)

A shrinking machine like on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Or ship the shirts to my Grandma, she shrinks everything.

You can wash on cold. I used to soak them in hot water just to make sure they didn't run when I washed them. When they're washed, I use cold water and then dry on hot.

i thought cold water was best for clothes? i always use cold water for all of my clothes and they don't shrink.

Well, cold water and no dryer is best for non-shrinkage. The OP, however, is looking to deliberately shrink their shirts.

yeah i want to shrink the shirt because measurements here are normally quite small. okay so:

1. soak clothes in hot water for a while

2. wash it in cold

3. dry on hot

correct? sorry, i am so new to the shrinking method :P

You can skip the hot water part (IMO) if they're not brightly-colored shirts. I do that with shirts that are bright blue, teal, red, fuchsia, black, brown or asphalt, just to make sure that when I wash them normally they won't run onto my other clothes. If you do soak them, only leave them in for a few minutes (5 maybe).

If they're not dark/bright, just wash 'em cold and dry hot. Good luck!
