Okay peoples, question for ya. Prompted by a design I saw on here a bit ago, what is it that all of you think of chest hair? Honestly now. Throughout the ages social attitudes towards the furry stuff has swung back and forth between "Now I am a man" and "Dude, you look like bigfoot". So ladies, what do you think? Guys what is your opinion......alternately I suppose you could talk about the merits of shaved vs. not of the ladies too.

Aaaaaaaand discuss

I have a pretty damn hairy chest - not on the scale of the Hasselhoff Hairy design, but still pretty damn hairy.

I also have some hair on my shoulder, a lot on my arms running all the way on to the backs of my hands (monkey style!) and a tiny bit on my back = (

Let's see... add to that hair legs, thick hair on my head, and a beard, and you could probably keep a Peruvian family warm for years using just my body hair.

I swing between hating it and liking it and not caring. I think my reasoned, rational response would be - it grows on my body, it's nothing to do with me, and I'm not going to start shaving/waxing/trimming just because some body-fascist idiots have a problem with hair.

Plus, my girlfriend really likes it, so that kind of clinches it.

Hasselhoff? What about Robin William? He could dye and braid his chest hair and BOOM instant cheesy christmas sweater.

lol what? today you have a car and are going to unknown parts? Might not be the best cleaned up translatioin- but at least i understand.... yeah jon, takin highschool spanish rox =P

i think if you have body hair, not to worry about it tho, like on that senfield episode, it just doesnt work...

jkgarcia28 on May 21 '07 at 10:36am
Wow, ten points on your translation. Hey aren't you supposed to be at work? Slacker kid on threadless on government time. Haha! Isn't America great?

Fuzzy guys of the world must learn how to work it or find a chick like 13strong's got.

As for girls, please shave your legs, I realize the sacrifice in time you go through and if given the chance I will show my apreciation for that hard work.

As for other places, surprise me. Hehe

I have never really had a problem with the body hair thing in terms of finding girlfriends. They either liked it or didn't care.

Maybe I just go out with particularly rational, mature women, instead of people who are scared of a natural human thing like body hair.

pfft, what like i am going to sit in my cubicle just doing work the whole time. I'd be sleeping on government time in a matter of minutes if it wasnt for this site.

like im going to shave my legs during the winter when NO ONE is going to see them, as for any other time, fine- but I better get that well deserved attention

Tess - I am wasting the Scottish government's time and money on this site!

Hurrah for International Slacking.

I have also been using a significant portion of my working hours to work on a job application for an awesome job I actually want! God bless the Civil Service.

hahah right on 13!!

btw, being scottish totally rules out the body hair thing, your like 10 thousand times sexier than any of these other men
jkgarcia28
jkgarcia28 on May 21 '07 at 10:48am
13strong, you're scottish? Rock on! And I laugh at statements from the government on how effecient they are. I know people in Italy that literally work for maybe an hour or too a week......not that they don't show up everyday to punch in, just that they don't do anything.

But anyway, yeah, speedo's are one of those men's garments that you just have to look at and raise an eyebrow at. Generally they're pretty creepy.

You 100% scottish or a mix like me? MacBeth from my mother's side, Garcia from my dad and completely freakin' amazing from me just being me.

13strong on May 21 '07 at 10:54am
I am a temp, so it's not like I'm running the country. But yeah, the whole "Live to work" thing is not actually true anywhere, except places where they actually have to work the land to grow food. Or for single mothers working three jobs to raise their kids.

Actually, a lot of people work damn hard all the time, but very few of them earn half of what I do. How sad.

Thanks for the hairy support Tess - it's nice to know my overwhelmingly attractive genetics overwhelm your disgust at my physical appearance!

I don't understand though - what's so great about being Scottish?
13strong
13strong on May 21 '07 at 10:56am
My Dad is 100% Scottish - his family were originally from Mull, an island off the West coast. The house my great Grandad built is still there, though we don't own it.

My Mum is born and raised in Glasgow, but her family are Irish Catholic, and her parents were from Ireland.

Where is your Dad from jkgarcia? Sounds like you might be a genetic double of one of my all time fictional heroines!

I'm not a fan of chest hair. However, I wouldn't ever consider its presence or absence a deciding factor in relationships. Unless he's a prat and demands I shave somewhere I don't want to* - in which case, he's losing his body hair too, damn it.

*This is all purely hypothetical, as I have never been in this situation.

Dad is of Mexican and Spanish origins. Great grandma was a native mexican, Great grandpa the spanish rogue. Go back far enough on the spanish root, got a bit of french in us too.

What's so great about being Scottish?!?!?! Are you high man?!? Freakin' Celtics man, big huge dudes with massive swords, the heritage, the language, the questionable fashion sense. What isn't so great about being Scottish? Can't get much cooler than a guy wearing a kilt tossing around a telephone pole (i.e. scottish games). And as a side note sticking to the original subject, hairy fellows they be too.

For me, its the accent, the kilts, the overall culture of the scottish. But mostly the accent....

I dunno, I guess ever since James Bond, and Braveheart from when I was little I was in love. hahaha

sadly im only like an 8th or 16th scottish. And its actually scotch-irish, like a little clan decided to be both or something. weird =\
jkgarcia28
jkgarcia28 on May 21 '07 at 11:05am
Hmmm....what's the most politically incorrect way to put this, just for kicks? Maybe it was a irish clan that always got drunk on scotch and the nickname stuck?

lol, wow, that's so not nice, jk!
jkgarcia28
jkgarcia28 on May 21 '07 at 11:08am
I agree with the accent being pretty freakin' rad. I'm trying to learn a bit of Gaelic but the going's slow. I'm all about my heritage, one of the reasons I learned spanish. Totally going to get a plaid and stick it in my room somewheres.

Ah, jkgarcia - I thought you might be the same make-up as Hopey, from the Love and Rockets books. My favourite fictional lesbian punk!

But I think she's half Scottish half... something else South American. Ah well.

"Freakin' Celtics man, big huge dudes with massive swords, the heritage, the language, the questionable fashion sense."

Hahaha. I love foreign perceptions of Scotland. I do like wearing a kilt, but you don't really get the chance except at weddings and ceilidhs. It's also funny that when I go abroad, people are like "Braveheart!". I always think "Ah yes, an American film, shot in Wales, starring an Australian...". haha

The language? You mean gaelic? I used to feel a little bad about not speaking gaelic (only 5% of Scottish people do), but then I read up and found out that it was never a whole-of-Scotland thing - just the highlands and islands really.

Removing body hair is always going to be worse than just having body hair.

Hair or no hair dosent make any difference to me, but theres nothing less attractive than a vain man.
jkgarcia28
jkgarcia28 on May 21 '07 at 11:56pm
Still, kilts are pretty cool, even if they kind of are somewhat an equivalent of a tux.....at least in as often as you get to use it.

And yeah, Gaelic, totally want to learn it. MacBeth was the last Scottish king tp speak it if I remember correctly.

Fairly close, but yeah, Mexico is technically Central America.

One more thing, what is your perception of America? Ya know, just out of curiosity.

Also, I have plans to eventually learn how to sword fight, hand and a half or something not asian. Yeah, I'm cool like that.

America? Anything I said would be a ridiculous generalisation - it's so massive and diverse.
