Well it's like they're legs right but look like trees and then there's this saying right about you can't see the forest for the trees so what they've done is swap the word trees for the word socks because the trees are legs, I mean socks and it's like kinda like a play on words right and it's kinda beautiful if you know what I mean like.

It's a very well done visual pun. He's balanced two different images so well that you can easily see them both. It's also very aesthetically pleasing and I probably get more compliments on this shirt than any other Threadless shirt I own.

the legs arent the trees. the negative space *between* the trees makes up the legs.

i didnt really notice anything cool about it at first until i realized that the brown in between the legs made up the shape of trees, and if you cover up the bottom of the shirt, it just looks like a forest scene. thats whats so cool about it - since the shoes at the bottom make the space between the trees look like socks, you dont notice the trees at first, if at all. i saw this about 5 times before I looked at it more closely and realized how neat it really was. you really dont see the forest but for the socks.
