In my most recent order, I bought two girly XL shirts. One fits beautifully, and one is too tight to wear (in fact, it's a little snug on my considerably-smaller teenage daughter.)

I'm really bitter because this was the shirt I was waiting most impatiently to arrive, and there's no way I can wear it (especially once it draws up in the wash.) Color me disappointed.

I had a similar problem. I ordered two small shirts; one arrived and fit perfectly, the other was like a dress. What the?

I really think they need to find a new manufacturer for their girly shirts - I own five or six of them in the same size, and yet, no two fit the same. All of them are visually different in size. ::shakes head::

They have announced that they will be changing from American Apparel to a custom-made shirt for the girls. The long-sleeves are Threadless' own brand, so maybe you should try those out...

I've visited the American Apparel store in Ann Arbor, and was sadly disappointed in their quality. I truly admire their business ethics, but the product needs some serious quality control. And they need to re-think their sizes, too. A girly XL should fit an extra-large person. I'm not horribly massive, but the girly XL sizes I tried weren't cut to be flattering for sizes over 10. They're babydoll shirts, pure and simple. Not everyday shirts. I'd prefer an everyday type of shirt over a shirt meant for a pencil-thin 18-yr-old. And good-fitting, well-made shirts are out there--just look at the Ultimate Tee available at Target. It fits like a charm and looks really good on every physique. Sleeves aren't too short or tight, just-right curves, heavyweight quality material that doesn't shrink up or fade out. When I wear these shirts, people are always complimenting me on how much weight I've lost...and I have to admit it's the clothes, not me.

As for American Apparel, their material is very thin, like cheap concert T-shirts, they're tight all around, and I was shocked to find stained and damaged shirts hanging up for sale (at full price) in the store. Were these damaged in the store, or were they shipped this way? I don't know, but it worries me. For the price, I'd rather have a better shirt. It's gotten to the point that I'm checking out the screen-printing process myself and buying Ultimate Tees at Target (for $8.99) to try a little DIY. My impatience for good designs on quality shirts is getting to me!

Here, here! I've got at least ten XL girly shirts and each one fits different. My most recent two purchases seemed more like 2Xs, while the last one was most certainly a L.

Grr... I can't wait for the change over to a new brand of tee, but even then you have to wait for old designs to cycle out or risk the sizing crapshoot. Very frustrating.

i own 12 threadless tee's all size large.i have noticed difference in sizing between designs.some appear to be a size 10 while others size 12.i am in between sizes so this doesnt overly affect me but i find some tees i wear more than others due to the difference in fit!
they really need to fix this problem as i dont think they allow for the shrinkage once washed either.

I own over 30 Threadless shirts in the same size (Guys Small) and they are all terribly inconsistent. Normally, it's not too big a deal, but this shirt is soooo long that it hangs down past my crotch. I could literally walk outside wearing this shirt and no pants and people would just think i'm a guy in a red dress. I'm thinking of returning it, but by the time I account for shipping costs, it's almost not worth the money. Very disappointing, Threadless. You really need to improve your quality control.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know if Threadless has made improvements in these sizing inconsistencies?

I ordered a bunch of shirts in one order last summer, and I've vowed not to make another unless the issue is fixed. My first shirt printed on the new Threadless shirts fits perfectly, so I ordered six more (all the same size, all washed the same way) and NONE of them fits even remotely like that first one. They actually feel much more like the original, boxy AA shirts than the "new" Threadless style. It's extremely frustrating. Most of them are way too big or way too small to be wearable at all. Sad!
