Nothing complicated. This tee still makes me chuckle because it is the shit.

Yeah, there's no irony, double entendre, or any sort of deeper meaning here. In the great words of Pogo, "It is what it is".

This shirt confuses more people that I'd anticipated when I bought it.



I think the problem is many people aren't familiar with, or can't recognize the "You" it's speaking to.



This shirt is making fun of you if:

-You read Romeo and Juliet and/or Hamlet in high school and you totally "get it". You understand what it's like to fall passionately in love with someone you barely know and/or like to talk about "shuffling off this mortal coil"

-You like to write "poetry" that captures those same powerful emotions, because you're totally deep and complicated and stuff

-As a result you torture people with overbearing prose that looks like it was ripped from your 12 year old sister's diary.



Personally, I bought this shirt as a tribute to all the rejected submissions to the campus lit journal I edited. Said one of the reviewers before adding to the no pile "I guess this year's theme is death"

It's just about everyone who can write 3 lines thinks they're as good as Shakespeare or whatever, while in fact they suck. Therefore : Shakespeare hates your emo poems.
