about U R My HEROine

I really dig this shirt and it's one of the first I bought (with A Caged Bird Dreams), but two things that never quite made sense to me was the glaring drop of red blood (in a sea of Blue, yellow, and white") drawn by the "heroine"'s really sharp nails and also the lower case "ine" since the female character didn't look to be in a very heroic role. I just looked at the original sub and it was originally titled "You Are My HEROIN," a little change which makes a big difference.

I was just curious as to whether anyone could shed some light on the change from "Heroin" to "Heroine."

it means both. the woman in the drawing is a heroine but she also represents heroin. either works.

But if the focus of the shirt was supposed to be some sort of conflict between her being his "Heroine" or his "Heroin" shouldn't the title be "HEROINe," with just the e lowercase to emphasize her duality.

Rather than heroine/heroin, the current title seems to emphasize male/female.

It would help to know why the "E" was added when it wasn't there in the first place.

the theme of the contest was "you are my heroine," i think. the artist intended it to be "heroin," but it was apparently changed later back to "heroine" when printed, for whatever reasons.

it's because this shirt was the band "boys like girls" loves threadless winner and they have a song called hero/heroine. and the lyric in the song is "i feel like a hero and you are my heroine"

if you look through the discussion from the submission, her nails demonstrate his heroin addiction. like she kind of kicks in that feeling into him? idk.
