I have been happy with taxes previous years, but I got my butt kicked this year. As far as what I make, I did some freelance work last year to pay for my wedding. Caught up to me I guess. Ahhhh....

I hate how your refund is considered taxable income.

Yeah taxes suck. I'm not even excited about refunds, because all that means is that I gave the government to much money during the year.

and dude, start an l.l.c. for your freelancing it's easy I promise, all the extra money you make you put it through there, then you make deductions... cell phone, phone bill, internet, any computer costs you had (memory, ink, paper, ANYTHING related) I came out ahead. Also, I have to start adding taxes, whatever it is for my state, to my billing system and I opened a separate savings account to put that money into. I save it there, and see how my taxes go, most of the time I don't use because of the deductions and have extra money. Trust me it's worth it!

I should probably check into that. I'm positive I have more worked lined up for this year. Keeps me busy and I have to pay off this years taxes somehow, right?

PS. I'm currently eating a microwave dinner and a whole bag of chips out of sorrow.

Oh and I had to start an L.L.C. after realizing that I'll be making close to an extra 20,000 in 2007 on side work. That's not something you can hide from the IRS.

I opened one at the end of '06 and that was just with a $2500 profit.

Torakamikaze ! How can you be happy that

the overspending government is taking away your money

and mispending it or giving it away to others though

corporate welfare and welfare for individuals? If you're

getting a refund, then it means you sent in too much and

missed the opportunity to gain interest on that cash

or whatever you may have done with it while they

were holding it.

I'm all for the Fair Tax as long as the current system is dismantled.
