about Derby Of The Damned
See, Chelly, I've found another practical use for those boots - making me feel like I've really earned an STP point! Yeah, I'm back to doing gallery pics. I'm running out of coupon. ;) Which looks best? Or should I do more, with added crowbar/chain? 1. ![]() 2. ![]() 3. ![]() Also: photoshopping my striped socks/gloves to make them pink, y/n? ![]() EDIT: Submitted this: ![]()
This is my attempt to get back into the blogs! I have missed some of you guys quite a lot. And FA keeps staring at me with those puppy-eyes of his and pleading for my return.
So, I suck at Christmas. I have bought chocolate for most of my friends (a couple of them are getting more expensive/thoughtful presents, as are my family) but I still had the time and money to buy myself a bunch of jewellery... and these: ![]() In matt rather than shiny, but the matt picture is not as good. I have finally found heels I can comfortably walk in! I figure, since I now have a real job I can splash out a bit... right? And I'm still buying Threadless shirts guilt-free on the sale as I'm still on that coupon... today I opened a parcel and received two tentacled horrors, a stylish fox, and a musical scene with a Victorian/Decemberists vibe. Half of these are presents for people. :) How's Christmas shopping going for all of you?
Thanks, mysterious stranger!
It was my birthday today. :) I had a pretty cool time.
EDIT: Yesterday. :)
I've found it incredibly difficult to get back into these blogs. :/
Talk to me, Threadless.
So, I'm going to do voluntary work at a local primary school ("elementary school"/"middle school" for Americans - it'll just be the older kids, 10-12, so not sure which term is more appropriate). I'll be co-leading the Graphic Novel Club.
Basically, the kids are going to write and draw their own story, which will be published in comic-book form at the end of each term (semester) for pupils, teachers, and parents to buy. At the end we're hoping they can all be collected in a book, which can again be bought by proud parents and the like, and also sent to other schools as a source of inspiration or something. I'm not worried about the members of the club being unable to do good work - we'll be selecting them based on submissions of art and writing - but what I AM worried about is the choice of software. We're going to need to be able to scan in large pictures, take character art and place it onto background art (both in full colour), get everything the right size and placement on the page, and add effects to show movement or emotion or whatever. Currently, the other leader is anticipating that we can do all of this on Microsoft Publisher. @_@ I told him that there was no way we'd be able to do everything on that, and that he'd be better off getting Creative Suite 3, but there are serious worries that our budget won't stretch that far and the school is definitely not happy with the idea of downloading a free version. What would you guys recommend? Is there something that can do what we want that won't cost as much as CS3? Is there something specifically for graphic novels that would be better? We want this to be really high-quality. (I'm not sure the school would like the idea of downloading the Gimp or similar either because they're very hot on internet security and I doubt they would trust downloads - although I will ask them.)
I have a lot of guys' shirts I don't want, mostly due to the prize for the weight loss competition. I know I could sell them normally, but I was wondering - would anyone be interested in buying them as customised items? I can convert them into a variety of different styles (halter neck, boat neck, lace-up corset style, strapless - anything really!) or even something like a hoody or skirt.
And if you are interested in something like that, what kind of money would be willing to/expecting to pay? (The shirts I currently have available are Star Men in Moon's Milk, Shakespeare Hates Your Emo Poems, Hrududu The New Guy, Trucker Hats Used To Be Cool (the first ever 12 club print!), and I Went to Threadless HQ And All I Got Was This Lousy T-shirt. Not sure about selling the last two since they're practically collector's items, but if lots of people are interested...)
Nope, this isn't the massive sizing blog (which I haven't been working on in a while since I've been on various holidays for about a month)... just a quick observation.
According to the size charts, Girly XL should be too small for me. In fact I wear a Girly L which is still incredibly baggy around my waist. And just out of curiosity, a few minutes ago I tried on the Girly S I bought for a friend of mine - and it fit me! Quite snugly, yes, but not even indecently tight. Just goes to show: size charts are weird. about Star Men in Moon's Milk
So, this shirt was the first thing I fell in love with when I came to Threadless (note the grainy low-quality product pic, lol). However, due to waiting too long and the girls' sizes being understocked (no, really) I missed out on it the first time and bought the only version left, a guys' 2XL, with the plans to make into a dress/skirt/poster. Since my sewing machine is broken, none of this really took off, and the shirt wasn't that nice anyway - polycotton, the printing screens had been a bit misplaced so the design was slightly messed up, and the glow ink was thick and gloppy-looking.But then, oh wonder of wonders! It came back into stock in Girly XL during an inventory count, with the stock chart bar half full again! And now it is mine, in soft cotton, and printed better - the colours are much vibrant and the print seems a lot smoother somehow! :D I am wearing it and am so happy that I can wear the first Threadless shirt I ever loved, thanks to the mercy of the all-knowing T-shirt Gods. I think I'll take it with me on holiday and wear it to clubs to show off the glow ink. :D |
I love when people spell my username correctly. :) Though I also enjoyed being Vindemiavarmintdominatrix...
