about The Soldier Returns

This was my major big-project entry for Manos' contest.

I love this shirt, I love the Crane Wife, and I love working on ambitious art projects, so it seemed like the perfect choice! I've documented in detail the process of making this picture on my entries page, if anyone is at all interested to see crane statues and anchors and my face at various levels of paint-coverage. :P

The contest ends tomorrow - wish me luck! :)

[EXTRA CREDIT! (i.e., feel free to ignore...) Help me choose a product pic!

-One of the above or a close-up? (If I can find one with enough of the shirt showing... We took loooaads of them but my hair and stripy shirts cover most of them)
- Crane wife goes Myspace?

(I also have one in which I'm doing a Myspace pose with the skull, but none of the shirt is showing up in that one...)

i saw this on the other blog and thought you did an awesome job of recreating the scene!! i especially dig the facepaint. i'm not sure why more people aren't commenting.

if you could find a pose of you like the first pic, but showing some of the shirt, i think it'd make a great product pic

Arg, I really wish I'd moved back my damn hair - the best I can find is about half the design showing. You can see the soldier's head and torso and most of the crane. And it would have to be resized for a gallery pic - pity this pic is so long, and gallery pics have to be wide instead...

I've just quickly made these, what do you think?

One with anchor, one without... if I made it small enough to show the skull as well we'd basically be stick figures...
