grrraaacee on May 12 '07 at 5:26pm
my mom had to drive 30 minutes out of her way to bring me clothes because what i was wearing was "inappropriate school attire." if she had'nt come, i would've sat in ISS all day & miss my important classes.

i live at the beach where its hot. i should be allowed to wear shorts and tank tops without getting called out on it.

SheepMan22 on May 12 '07 at 5:28pm
thats crazy when i went to high schools girls wore whatever they wanted and never got in trouble most of them wore such skimpy clothes their tits and asses would just be hangin out there and they never got in trouble but then if a guy wore a tank top or wifebeater to school they would send him to the office
grrraaacee
grrraaacee on May 12 '07 at 5:33pm
my friend, who is a redneck white girl, got in trouble for wearing a tank top cause it was gang related.

and then i saw a guy walk down the hallway with a gun on his shirt and a blue bandana in his back left pocket.

RIDICULOUS if you ask me.
SheepMan22
SheepMan22 on May 12 '07 at 5:36pm
that is we had people in gangs all over our school and the only time they would get in trouble is when they would fight which was everyday

In my civics class, we had to do supreme court trials. This was the case that I was on. My role in the case was to play Joseph Frederick, the guy who made the sign. Let's just say my side won.

margolove
margolove on May 12 '07 at 6:01pm
schools tend to be really uneven in their application of dress codes in general.
SheepMan22
SheepMan22 on May 12 '07 at 6:02pm

Encouraged, the officials got together with parents to create a schoolwide dress code in 1998: no jeans, no pins, no patterns, no reds and no logos of professional sports teams.

WTF?
SheepMan22
SheepMan22 on May 12 '07 at 6:34pm
yea can you believe that shit its absurd
Vindemiatrix
Vindemiatrix on May 12 '07 at 6:37pm
I know. Banning a colour, WTF?

Either have uniforms, or have SANE policies for own clothes. This median area is just stupid.
SheepMan22
SheepMan22 on May 12 '07 at 6:39pm
yea and plus i can see how they can ban a type or style of clothes but colors thats just going way to far
Vindemiatrix
Vindemiatrix on May 12 '07 at 6:40pm
It just boils down to be: be bloody sensible about it. Girl wearing Tigger socks? Fine. Girl wearing anti-gay slogan shirt? Bust her ass out.
marblecargirl
marblecargirl on May 12 '07 at 6:41pm
There's a bunch of schools in the bay area that have banned "touching" They're saying that the rule is to decrease violence and sexual activity, but I think it's way over the top. I know parents who have kids who have been suspended multiple times for high-fiveing. Can you get more ridiculous than that?
Vindemiatrix
Vindemiatrix on May 12 '07 at 6:42pm
WTF. If you want to decrease violence and sexual activity, BAN THOSE, not high-fiving!

Jesusfuckingchristonacracker.

ahahah. i have to do a "current events" article paper every week for my civics class. basically we can pick anything as long as we relate it to civics somehow, and i definitely chose that article to write about when it was in the paper.

everyone else picks things about the troops in iraq and such while i bring in stuff like this and articles about grandmas getting busted with mass quantities for weed that she sells to fuel a bingo addiction.
SheepMan22
SheepMan22 on May 13 '07 at 2:30pm

does your teacher get mad at all?
death by crayon
death by crayon on May 13 '07 at 2:33pm
no. she thinks they're hilarious too. my teacher is amazing. she's 26 or 27. one of her friends has bought a few tshirts from this site, so when she saw me wearing shirts from here she just talking about it for a few minutes during class. she randomly quotes reel big fish songs sometimes in class too. she's my hero... as worn out as the phrase is.

SheepMan22
SheepMan22 on May 14 '07 at 2:11pm
yes jray that is the greatest idea ever then there would be no gang colors or clothes everyone would be wearing the same thing i think you need to become president and enforce that law

well, i suppose we're fighting for our rights.

however, black arm bands to rally against s tyrannical government is one thing

fighting to wear some stupid clothes, as a kid to school, is ridiculous.

those parents should be ashamed as it sets a terrible precedent for their offspring.

a dress code is a dress code, my man.

right or wrong, it's a rule that, i assume, most schools can have.

true shirt but do you really think the dress code should be that strict where a girl cant wear tigger socks to school?
Kerrn
Kerrn on May 14 '07 at 3:19pm
wah wah wah

bitch bitch bitch

it's dresscode, it's not the end of the world.

you cant express yourself through what you wear, find some paper.

rules are rules.

and shit like this is part of the reason no one wants to be a teacher because every kid goes home and bitches to their parentrs about their teachers and the parents scream at the teachers until the teachers have no authority anymore.

SheepMan22
SheepMan22 on May 14 '07 at 3:23pm

i agree with kerrn.

as easy as you can say it's just socks,

i would respond, it's just socks, change them.

or accept the punishment

or go to another school.

this distraction is nutty
Stevethegreat
Stevethegreat on May 14 '07 at 3:40pm
the thing is, high school kids generally have shit for brains and get all worked up whenever they're told they can't do something
