Not to be pedantic or anything, but I really like this shirt, and I think it's a shame when there's things like "la mort c'est le meilleur moment de la vie: c'est pour cela qu'il est préférable de le garder pour la fin". I mean, it's not like he just didn't know what the article for "mort" was, because he used it properly at the start of the sentence.

The quote I mentioned translates to "death is the best moment of life: that's why it's preferable to keep it until the end".

death is the best part of this life as in this life was crap, cant wait till it's over..

hmm, I can't believe the designer would make this sort of mistake either. The quote can actually be found as it is on the shirt elsewhere, for example here. The designer probably used that as a reference for the quote.



On Gustave Parker's site though, the quote is:

"La mort c'est le meilleur moment de la vie. C'est pourquoi il est préférable de la garder pour la fin."



Oh well, if anyone actually notices it says "le" and not "la," at least you'll know.

It's ok with "le" if he refers to the moment (as in to keep that moment for the end) and "la" to refer to death (as in to keep death for the end). Technically both are good but gramatically a French teacher would much appreciate if "le" was used.

Oh, thanks. I was actually wondering about that, but to me it didn't make as much sense to refer to keeping the moment, i.e.

"Death is the best moment in life, that's why it's better to keep the moment for the end."

Though now rethinking it, perhaps "Death is the best moment in life, that's why it's better to keep death for the end" doesn't make as much sense.



I actually don't care for this quote as compared to the others anyways, but thanks for explaining.

@emanate: Thanks for explaining that, I didn't even think that he might be referring to the moment when he used 'le', I just assumed he meant death.
