Broadway Advice!

Two of my friends and I just found out we can go to NYC for free at the end of the month, and we're scrambling to find Broadway tickets because we really want to go. Any advice about this? I heard there is a place in Times Square (?) where you can get tickets the day of, for relatively cheap, but I also heard you have to wait in line there for hours. Any better advice? We'd rather not resort to scalpers for the tickets! What about off-Broadway stuff, if this is a hopeless case?

i should have included something about that...sorry!

we're not too picky about what we want to see, pretty much anything that we can get tickets to (minus the blue man group, who scare me half to death)

some of the ones we thought of were hairspray, beauty and the beast, stomp, wicked (which i think is sold out), etc.

The Blue Man Group is kind of scary...

I want to see Spring Awakening cause a guy with a pretty big part in it went to my hs and was in my french class. He's a pretty nice guy and is supertalented. I've heard that The Little Dog Laughed is good, too, but it's probably hard to get tickets for since I'm pretty sure it moved onto Broadway.

you should go see spam a lot, if its still playing (i think it is)

as to tickets, try ticket master, and order online or via phone.

im sorry i dont have much any other advice to offer, i dont go to broadway shows all that often, if ever.

special k - spamalot is still on broadway... i'm desperate! we've been trying ticketmaster, but broadway shows are just expensive!

it's about a bunch of kids at some private-ish hs who go through the turmoil of growing up...I forget if it's modern or the 70s, but there's a lot of abortions/suicide/death. My friends saw it, mostly to see the abovementioned kid, and said the music was amazing but the play itself was incredibly depressing. It's on broadway, tho, so it might be hard to get tickets.

if you do give up, then you should just wander about and see where you end up.

i could wander around manhattan all day if given the choice.

The box office, although they claim to be open during X hours, lie cuz they never are. You should go online and try broadwaybox.com. You can get discount tickets for certain dates, or even secondary ones. Or if all else fails, full priced ones.
