I just received this today its a great shirt but it's a lot tighter that other threadless shirts I've gotten. The sleeves are a bit too big and body is too tight? I checked the size chart and it fits very differently than an american apparel shirt which is almost the same cut. I'm afraid it won't fit after I wash it.

okay so i just measured it and it is 17" under the armpit not 18" like it should be

Almost all my Guys Medium threadless brand shirts are different sizes. So some are a little to big and others a bit too small. It's just something you have to get used to i think.

yeah I'm not likin paying xtra for these odd sized threadless brand tees.

That sounds like a defect, that's a big size difference - don't wash it and contact customer service.

Same sort of thing happened to me. They said that in the industry there's a margin of 1 inch either way that's acceptable, but more than that and it's defective. I've sent back a tshirt that was a lot bigger than it should have been and the customer services sorted it out really quickly. Give them an email.
