using threadless designs

hi! i have seen throughout the web (google) many designs from threadless users. is it illegal to use the submitted designs in blogs/myspace?

Give credit where credit is due. And don't make money off others' work. And don't do drugs. And stay in school.

indeed give credit

and dont use it to say "OMGZ looks at this dezign i didz!", cause then people will be like "OMGZ! That's so great! You good dezigner!" until one day a Threadlesser sees it and is all like "OMGZ! Zero, stolen!" and then there's many spam messages

If you want to get all technical, yes. If you used my work without expressed written consent, I could sue you. But if you credit both the artist by name, and in this case, Threadless, I'd look at it as free advertising. You can make that work for you by putting your Streetteam link in there too.

also, it cant be used for any other broadcast without expressed written consent from the NFL

I have often wondered, nerdishly, if it was wrong to use other people's photos, drawings, etc., for mix covers. I usually specify where I found them...

A lot of people don't even know where the designs come from. I have a friend who has Flowers In The Attic as her Myspace background and she had no idea it was Threadless until another friend of mine told her. She just got it off one of those sites that makes your background for you

Yeah, I personally wouldn't care if someone used one of my designs for a myspace layout as long as there's a tagline with my name and copyright.

Yeh ohyoustalher is right on, loads of my mates have skins on their myspace and bebo pages featuring threadless designs, but as far as I know no profit is being made. The only annoying thing is the designers aren't given any credit, instead the site which creates these skins get the credit.... abit wank really

What im going to do is say the images come from threadless...that way they will search for you guys through the website. it will be advertising for you guys and the treadless... :D

Put the artist's name on there too. We love Threadless and everything, but we did the creative work and deserve the credit for it as well.
