Despite being a silent blogless Threadless user for so long, I could not just bite my tongue when I saw that this ABOMINATION was being printed.

Capitalism is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for written expression, as it communicates many vital pieces of information in ways that lower case letters simply cannot. For example, EMPHASIS, Proper Nouns, and A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.S. Oh, and don't even get me started on legibility.

I am shocked - SHOCKED - at your support of a shirt that is making such a blatantly ignorant and offensive attack on our writing system. Think of the Germans - they capitalize the first letter of ALL OF THEIR NOUNS! What would they do without capital letters, hmm? "Is that a fork or is that tasty, I DON'T KNOW!" Only without the upper case at the end because THEY WOULDN'T HAVE IT.

I can only hope that you recognize and rectify this heinous misdeed, Threadless (or should I say threadless?)

YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. What's next, "down with adverbs"? "Down with pronouns"? This is a SLIPPERY SLOPE which will surely lead to utter linguistic anarchy!

what the hell is wrong with you?

It is very hard to register sarcasm through a computer, but if this is, I definitely didn't pick up on it.

Right now I'm just confused.

This is OBVIOUSLY sarcasm. Lol.

You can tell because the blog entry is written like an argument for capitalism (the economic system).

Especially telling is the reference to Germans- because the Nazis were socialists after all (national socialists, to be specific).

I seriously can't understand how many people don't get the satire of posts like yours. I appreciate you, anyway! :)

El Dictador obviously got the sarcasm - how else could he mention it in his response? His point is that the initial text was bad at sarcasm; something which I disagree with. It's a really funny rant :)

A rebuttal:

Indeed, your argument does in fact bring forth several important facts. The common perception is that we strive for a classless society. This is obviously incorrect, if we as Anglophones(yes, all English-speaking peoples, including but not limited to the Greater British Isles, the Irish, Bermudans, United States'ers, and my country, the noble, intelligent, hard-working, kind, clean, beautiful, and humble Canadians) cannot harmonize our written tongue into a single, succinct, and serviceable set of characters. If our written word, the very form by which our society controls its information, is disjointed so, how can we ever hope to exist in harmony?

the germans gave us such abominations as hitler and liverwurst, it stands to reason that they spawned capitalism as well. i, myself, am german but i ardently opppose capitalism and everything it stands for. and, quite frankly, i'm not a huge fan of quotation marks, either.

While any reasonable person (myself included) would indeed group Hitler and liverwurst as abominations, I am compelled to remind you that none other than MR. LEVI STRAUSS was German. So while it is easy to lounge in the comfort of your computer chair making misinformed comments about capitalism, you should ask yourself - where would you be WITHOUT PANTS?
