I don't post here very often, if at all, but I came home and read that Stan Winston just died. Man, I don't usually get choked up about famous people dying but he was one of my heroes and I just need to say something.

seriously, i think the last time I actually shed a tear at a celebrities passing was when John Lee Hooker died years ago, but...and you know, my day was bad enough...but I'm actually crying about this, he was a great man, a legend amongst legends and the literal architect of so many dreams...I really feel like someone close to me has passed.

Yeah, i was quite shocked too...had no idea he was ill. The man is responsible for half my childhood ideas of awesomeness...just posted an obituary on another site half an hour ago, myself.
