On Wednesday, I made the hardest decision of my life. I resigned my position as chief creative officer at skinnyCorp/Threadless.

As you may imagine, this was not an easy decision. What makes Threadless special is its ability to turn every single person – from our vendors to our employees – into part of a giant family dressed in ink-slathered cotton. The collective dedication and creativity of the Threadless family, as well as our beloved community, is awe inspiring.

The pride I have for Threadless is unmeasurable.

Of course, none of this has been possible without Jake (skaw). He has always had the vision and ability to wade through my onslaught of ideas and cherry-pick the ones that we both knew were best for the community and for Threadless as a whole. The decision to leave was no different. After many long discussions with Jake and our CEO Tom, we’re all on the same page that this is the right direction to take.

If I had to pick the one thing I’ll miss the most, it will be working with Jake, Tom and the rest of the executive team as Threadless continues to grow more and more awesome.

So, whats next for me?

First, I am taking some time off. In the seven years of building Threadless, the longest vacation I ever took was about 2 weeks, and that was last month. I’m looking forward to spending real quality time with my family and friends, without meetings, deadlines or other work related things getting in the way.

Next, I am going to rededicate myself to things I love. Who knows, maybe I will start skating again. (Probably not, but we can all dream). I heard a rumor that people actually travel for pleasure. I may give that a go as well.

Lastly, I will start getting involved in a few projects that are just too exciting to keep secret, but too early to talk about. I hate to do it, but you will just have to stay tuned to hear about all the awesomeness to come.

The past seven years have been amazing. While I will no longer be involved in the day-to-day grind of the company I helped create, I will remain close to Threadless not only as an owner and advisor, but through my many friends there. And of course, I will continue to be an active part of the most awesome community, ever.

Thank you Threadless; I cant wait to show you what’s next.

Because you are so awesome we were able to score invites to Raven, an online vector editor from the fine folks at Aviary.com Yes you read that correctly, they have created a vector editor that can be accessed from any browser.

aviary.com/register
be sure to use the promo code: threadless otherwise you wont have access to Raven.

Once signed in you can starting using Raven by mousing over the create tab and click Raven.

Hey there Threadless peeps from Australia! I'm going to be in your neck of the woods from May 23 - 30. I'm starting in Melbourne, but will also be visiting Sydney and Adelaide. Would love to get together with whoever of you want to hang out!

Which of y'all are in Australia?

Just so you guys know, the band who appears in the product shots for "When Pandas Attack" are called IWRESTLEDABEARONCE, and in my humble opinion - they are awesome.

Check them out...

Hey ladies and germs-

I made a minor tweak to the main blog page. What you'll notice is that there's now a HUGE post a blog button - making posting blogs easier than ever! Also, if you're wondering where the "edit your default view" button went, it's now on the top next to "categories". I also reorganized the right column so that searching was more obvious.

Hope you like it!

Hey ladies & germs...

After we launched the new scoring system on Friday a lot of you were a little bothered by the strength of the numbers and felt that they competed graphically with the designs. To alleviate that, I went ahead and made the numbers smaller for y'all (as seen here).

Please let me know what you think, and thanks - as always - for your feedback!

Let's say there was a tee that you HAD TO HAVE. it was sold out and it wasn't likely that it would get reprinted. Would you buy a damaged one for cheap to satisfy the need? By damaged I mean small spray outs, slightly off register, or maybe the tee itself had a small spot of slight discoloration. Basically something we couldn't sell as a "regular tee" but it's certainly not unwearable.

thoughts?

Hey ladies!

I'm looking for your opinion regarding some language on Threadless. When Threadless first began, we had pretty limited sizing. We had a few guys' sizes, and only one size for girls - Girly M/OS (medium one size). As we expanded our sizing, we never shifted away from the term "girly" to reference all our girls' sizes.

As I've been working hard to give Threadless a face-lift (as you can see from the new homepage and submit page - more to come!), I'm thinking about changing the term from "Girly" to "Girls" so our sizing will be Guys & Girls, not Guys & Girly. Opinions throughout skinnyCorp are mixed, and there's excellent points in support of both words.

People have said that "girls" refer more to young women, teens & tweens (thereby possibly alienating older females) while "girly" refers to the style of the shirt. We certainly don't want to alienate anyone with terminology, so what's your opinion? Should we change it? Keep it? Does it not matter at all?!

Lemme know!!

I designed this back in the day when it was a lot easier to get printed at Threadless. It was 2001 I think? It was part of something I designed for DesignForFreedom, an awesome project run by my friend Gabe, which isn't up anymore. Gabe is actually the one who designed our ill-fated "I Am Analog" tee. Anyway, here's my design. Maybe one day we'll reprint it!
