I love Canada. Sure, I complain about the government or high Canadian dollar or the fact that Canada is always being made fun of or just about everything, but I mean, when I hear about the stuff that is going on in the world, I just feel so lucky.

I hear Malaysia is beautiful!

i enjoy my freedoms here, however the cost of my freedoms seems to be to great for my own liking, i like how even though oil prices rising effects every sector of commerce, someone is still getting filthy rich as we go broke

I am in California, and it is US $4.50 per gallon for regular gas. It is getting more expensive everywhere. My family in Canada pays more than I do.

Australia is a good place and hopefully the new government can fix some of the stupid things the greedy last government did. Sadly there are still problems with racism, and incredibly expensive housing and rent prices.

Australia is pretty sweet...

Melbourne is full of multicultural awesomeness so we don't have to worry about the racism matt is talking about... We have surf in the summer, snow in the winter, heaps of empty places to explore.

we are isolated from most of the worlds problems but like evry where else we have our fair share of problems...

but all in all i was very lucky to be born here...

my dad grew up in Europe and experience the many and varied atrocities of war... how could i ever complain:D

I quite like my country, and my city.. The cost of living are high, but the quality is also high..
Petrol prices are also going up, but I use public transport to go everywhere, so I am not that affected..

The only thing that could be better is the weather.. Winter last forever, and we only have shitty summers.. But well, you can't have everything :)

Oh, I live in Zurich, Switzerland

I think that a lot of folks from the u.s. are incredibly spoiled by their freedoms. I live here. I feel very fortunate to live here. I understand that it's not perfect, but it's a helluva lot closer than a lot of places.

I have to admit that California is pretty fucking rad.

Though I have to qualify that, by saying we can gauge our quality of life only by comparing it with other places we've actually been (news and television are iffy representations). You could be content in a horrible place, if you know of nothing better.

London is the creative capital of the world! I love living in Britain. I think on balance, given the standard of living, the government, the freedom of the media, the culture... coupled with the climate and geography - being an island with no natural disaster threats such like earthquakes or volcanoes, and no poisonous creatures or guns.

The weather might not always be fantastic, I do feel lucky to be born here.

I had nothing against London when I lived there - it offered me everything I wanted and needed, but was so fucking expensive so I left after seven years.

I now live in Vienna and love it so far, although I've only been here for 5 weeks.

Its a difficult question, theres alot of things I dont like about the uk (such as the drinking culture) but then I've only lived in the north of england. I dont like living in yorkshire (I'm at uni in york, beautiful city but I dont like uni life) but I do like living in cheshire (home).

but I want to live in canada, I had such a good time over there that its pulling me back by christmas I'll of lived in canada for 8 months,

When your prices double it will be just like living in the UK. Welcome to my world!

Appart from the price of fuel (and everything else) I love living here and cannot imagine living anywhere else. Great clubs and eateries, fantastic shopping and generally nice and friendly people. It does amaze me though how differently people live within the same city, and how they feel about it.

yikes! stubby- if you don't like the drinking culture in York- i'd advise you to move to a village! Isn't York a really very mellow city?

i love the English countryside, weather, badgers, socialist government, fish n' chips, British humour including British sitcoms (the best in the world imo) i like the underdog/underachiever attitude, British girls, currys, Cambridge, Manchester, Sheffield....

but i hate that Brits are too reserved, bank holidays, football, ignoramus-es, prices, never being able to buy the things i want until America is bored of them, health and safety, maddeningly petty laws and uncooked cheese.

'yikes! stubby- if you don't like the drinking culture in York- i'd advise you to move to a village! Isn't York a really very mellow city?'

Mate I know the drinking culture in york is fairly melow compared to other places, a night out in leeds is one place that certainly doesnt appeal to me. What I'm saying is I dont like the drinking culture of the uk, I dont like drinking until you make a complete fool of yourself.

The amount of times I've seen girls throwing their guts up, holding onto the pavement for dear life is terrible and I just think its pathetic.

and I dont like to student lifestle which usually means that you go out and drink until your in that sort of a state at least three nights a week, then some how stumble to classes (thats if you actually go).

It was a bit of a culture shock going to canada because we drank twice a week and that would be friday and saturday night. Now I'm not saying people didnt get incredibly wasted to the point where its pathetic (they did) but at least it was once a week and didnt get in the way of classes.

I ended up with a group of ten or so friends that really werent into drinking, I've never really met anyone in the UK like that, even my closest friends (at home) like to drink to excess on some occasions for example one of my friends drank 20 pints on his 20 th birthday, next year hes going to attempt 21.

Just for the record I dont think drinking is a bad thing, I do it myself what I dont agree with is drinking to excess.

I also find drinking quite boring, its incredibly repetative, espcially when you go to the same pubs and clubs every single week.

i love the English countryside, weather, badgers, socialist government, .......

So, it IS true that you can fool some of the people all of the time.
I love the UK, it's a beautiful country. However, it's over populated, over priced and run by a corrupt government with no real worthwhile opposition.
Stubby is right, the culture is alcohol lead; cities and towns are becoming increasingly violent.
