My hugest pet peeve here is when people show shirt placement with a scribble. It takes two seconds to place the actual graphic on a shirt, which would be much, much more clear.

Why do people do this? Is there anyone who actually prefers to see it that way?

I just thought it was an artistic decision for the sub. Some do it in a pretty cool way. It doesn't really bug me.

My personal favorite are designers who don't even show a placement for their submission -- are we trying to sell a print or a t-shirt design, hmmm?

Yeah, on a scale of "slight itch" to "a jackhammer to the brain" in terms of annoying, this one ranks pretty low. mjoo, I woulda thought your hugest pet peeve is people not using the critiques section.

The reason the scribble makes me crazy is because so often, the design wouldn't even look good in the scribble area. Plus, it takes the same amount of time to scribble as it does to place an actual image there. It makes me crazy because the logic behind it is so alien to me :)

As far as the critique section goes, my first couple of submissions to voting defy explanation. They make sense to me, and to no one else in the universe. When I see someone doing stuff that reminds me of that, I point them towards what helped me.

It doesn't bother me when people don't critique (I only critique about half my stuff) unless they keep submitting the same work over and over. I kind of feel like they're only hurting themselves, so I'll recommend that they critique, but it's no skin off my back if they decide otherwise.
