And we're getting married in September.

I'm thinking a fair themed reception would be fantastic (we started dating the day we went to the State Fair).

Anyone have thoughts for unconventional songs for the ceremony? We're both fans of Rocky Votolato, etc.

Yayyyyyyyyy!

congratulations. a fair themed reception sounds really cool. cotton candy and teacup rides and ring toss. that's what i call a wedding.

don't get too caught up in the wedding organising and crap. it totally ruins your enjoyment of the day.

I got really caught up in organizing my wedding, it didnt ruin my enjoyment of the day, but when the cake was all wrong, and I was laughing, it made me realize that all the organizing was good, but in reality hardly mattered because I would have enjoyed that day even if a tornado struck the church and my bridesmaids all decided to wear jeans instead of their gowns.

thanks guys, I'm fairly laid back about all of it so far. My two older sisters have gone through it before me, so they've got some good advice.

The best advice I've gotten is not to fret over anything, no matter what goes wrong, I'm getting married to the man I love and that's the most important part anyways, right? :)

CONGRATS! You have NO time to plan! Good luck with that.

Our wedding was also simple & cheap.....but still a headache to organize- there are SO MANY DETAILS.

Where y'all having the ceremony?

Yeah, I guess it always comes down to the details. :)

It'll be at our church, we played around with a couple other ideas, but this works best. It's pretty inside, so we don't really need to decorate a lot, which is nice.

Jemae - yep, that's the guy :)

haha, cotton candy seems to be a given, we were also brainstorming to do something in place of a photobooth (which would be super fun, but too expensive)...we came up with cardboard or plywood cutouts of a bride and groom (or something...) for people to take pictures...I think it would be fun!

This was at the state fair last year...
