I'm not sure how much Threadless can really do about it. Legal Festa might know, but fakes/rip-offs just keep happening. It's like trying to hold back the tide.

Sometimes blogger pester-power is the most potent tool in tackling the copy-cats.

It is not some random tshirt store. They have quite a number of outlets in several diffrent shopping malls. Not that it is "super big, super rich" kind of store, but if you mention the name, most ppl will probably know. ...It's quite suprising that they would rip off something from Threadless

bear in mind, the actual store prolly have no idea, but some junior designer they have on their books most likely 'took inspiration' from Tan's design. Be interesting to know how much of the letterwork around the brand name is traced. If any.

I think most of the time they don't even know about it and trust their inhouse designers. Just to give them the benefit of the doubt. Still it's sloppy business then.

I don't think they traced the art work line by line though. ( Sofar I can tell from the picture) But nonetheless a rippoff though.

I've seen a few Threadless shirts around Hong Kong and they weren't even similar but exact copies. I saw "I Want To Be Friends" and "Swiss Army" in a store and the only thing they'd changed was the color scheme of 'Friends', 'Swiss Army' was exactly the same except the color of the shirt (I think it was white instead of grey) -_-. Thing is, this isn't a big chain store it's just one of those small graphic tee shops. Should I still report them to Threadless for the copyright infringement?
I've also seen 'A City Built on Rock and Roll Would Be Structurally Unsound' but that was at a local market so there's no point reporting that...

Yeah, there's a number of places in Singapore that sell kinda-sorta looking Threadless shirts. The print is always shite, that's really the best way to tell. Also, they're always a bit "off" with the design.

But yeah, that sucks for you :(
