Put the name of a popular Threadless tee into Google and inevitably you'll find a bunch of thieves cashing in.

These cretins are unusually blatant, even ripping off the product pics and having some kind of scoring system (what, so they can figure out which designs to steal next?).....

HAHAHAHAHA! They don't even bother to mask the fact everything is straight up Threadless. There's even Shimala pics everywhere on the product pics and such! I don't think Threadless is too worried about this....im sure the shirts have the consistency and print quality of a used tampon.

hmm.... question:

How do we know they're ripoffs, and not just the real thing but marked up for profit?

that is sooo strange, look they even list the name of the designer...

I want threadless to reprint monsterwash. It reminds me of trying to bath my dog.
Really though, the Chinese rip off market is a law unto themselves. they couldnt care less about the blatant taking another's intellectual property thing. If there is a demand for a product they will make it.

Peater: marked up? When you do the currency conversion, you'll see that the thieves are selling them for about $9.

Also, look at the folded-shirt photos. They have mytee tags.

Your people? I think any people would do it, if in their position.

I blame the circumstances.

woah! at first glance i thought they were just marking up prices like what peater thought but they're actually selling it cheaper! threadless should probably put a watermark on the pictures in the near future so that it won't be so easily stolen.

In their position? These aren't the poor farmers in the fields trying to feed their family. These are greedy people trying to make a quick buck.

Yeah, it wouldn't exactly cost them a whole lot more to find some local artists who'd be thrilled to create designs for pennies.

It's not like pirating an operating system or a Hollywood blockbuster, where a DIY effort would require insane amounts of time, money, labour and infrastructure. We're talking about screening some artwork on a bunch of t-shirts. In a pinch, you don't even need a computer for that.

Well, at least they credit the artist. Are we sure this isn't some sort of partnership with threadless? (highly doubtful)

I found the website about a year ago. I dont think they are actually selling the tshirts, since there is no change at all as for the products and/or the designs in the voting since the last time i visited it.

All about me
I'm a designer.....of electronic circuits. Once in a while, when I have the spare time, I make noisy kinetic sculpture.

I should stop wasting time loitering around this website and instead should be updating my pathetically neglected website, but y'know how it is. Life, ah yes, life.
