How would you rework it?

Was thinking of expanding it a bit - more of a map around the footprints and maybe another tie-fighter. Also possibly put the whole thing on a 'lined-paper' background. Other than than, just making the lines a bit bolder.

And bigger on the shirt too, I hope? :)

I do think this is a concept that could come much closer to a 3.

Hmmm...early signs are slightly encouraging, urge to return to the drawing board increasing slightly

I'd say yes. In a side note, Ambition Killed The Cat is one of my all time favourite shirts.
