Is this shirt anti-american?
To me, it looks like someone painting over/blotting out an american flag.

I don't hate the stripes, though I do often question the judgement of your current helmsman.

Anyone have any thoughts?

That would never have occurred to me. Mostly because it looks nothing like an American flag. The flag of the USA has only 13 stripes.
